A code reader tells you a number. A diagnostic tells you what's actually wrong. We scan, test the circuit and the part, and explain it in plain language before you spend a dollar on repairs.
The check engine light can mean a loose gas cap or a failing catalytic converter — the light alone won't tell you which. Parts stores will read the code for free and hand you a part; that's how people end up replacing three sensors and still driving with the light on. At C.C. Automotive our technicians use professional-grade scan tools to read the full data stream, then actually test the wiring, sensor or component the code points to.
You get a clear explanation of what failed, why, and what it will take to fix it — in writing, with a 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty on the repair. Flashing light? That's an active misfire that can destroy a catalytic converter. Pull over and call us at (520) 624-9250.
Engine, transmission, ABS, airbag and body modules read with pro-level tools — not a $20 code reader.
Fuel trims, sensor voltages, misfire counts and circuit tests to confirm the failed part before it's replaced.
Smoke testing for evap leaks and catalyst efficiency testing — the codes that fail Pima County emissions.
Chafed wiring, corroded connectors and failed sensors repaired correctly, then verified with a drive cycle.
A stored fault. Safe to drive short-term, but get it scanned soon — it often hides a mileage or emissions problem.
Active misfire. Raw fuel is hitting the catalytic converter. Stop driving and call.
Ignition, fuel delivery or a vacuum leak — the scan narrows it in minutes.
Often a loose or worn gas cap triggering an evap code — one of the few easy ones.
Oxygen sensors, mass-airflow sensor or a thermostat stuck open are the usual suspects.

We charge for real diagnostic time — testing the actual circuit and part, not just reading the code. Call (520) 624-9250 for current pricing. If you approve the repair, you'll know exactly what you're paying for and why.
If it's steady and the car runs normally, short trips are usually okay until you can get it scanned. If it's flashing, or the car is running rough or overheating, stop — continuing can turn a small repair into a big one.
A code tells you which system reported a problem, not which part failed. An O2 sensor code can be a bad sensor, a wiring issue, an exhaust leak or a fuel problem. Testing finds the real cause so you don't pay for parts that don't fix it.
We can, but it'll come back — and clearing it right before an emissions test resets the readiness monitors, which fails the test anyway. We'd rather fix it properly.
Yes. Our scan tools read every module on the vehicle, not just the engine.
