Battery Installation

The right battery, installed and registered correctly.

Heat, not cold, is what wears out a car battery — and Tucson summers cook them. Most batteries here last two to three years, not the five you'd get up north. Before we sell you one, we load-test the battery and test the alternator and starter draw, because a battery that keeps dying is often a charging problem, a parasitic drain or corroded cables, not the battery itself.

When it is the battery, we install the correct group size and type for your vehicle. Many newer cars require an AGM or EFB battery and need the new battery registered to the vehicle's computer — skip that step and the charging system overcharges it and shortens its life. We handle the registration, clean and protect the terminals, and secure the hold-down. Backed by our written 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty on the work. Need deeper electrical diagnosis? See our electrical repair page.

Common Questions

Battery Replacement questions, answered straight.

It depends on the battery your vehicle requires — a standard battery costs less than an AGM for a start-stop or luxury vehicle. We'll test first and quote the exact battery your car needs, installed, before doing anything.

Usually two to three years. Heat degrades the internal plates much faster than cold does, so a battery that would last five years in a mild climate often fails after its third Tucson summer.

Many vehicles from roughly 2015 on — especially with start-stop, heavy electronics or European makes — specify AGM. Installing a standard battery in those cars leads to early failure. We check your vehicle's requirement.

Usually a weak alternator, a parasitic drain (a module or accessory staying on), or corroded cables. That's why we test the charging system with every battery install instead of just swapping the box.

In most cases, yes — call (520) 624-9250 first so we can confirm we have the right battery for your vehicle on hand.

The installation is backed by our written 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty, and the battery carries its own manufacturer warranty on top of that.
