Our Story
Charlie Cillitto's story starts far from Tucson — born in 1950 in Morgantown, West Virginia. He was just seven years old when his family made the move to the desert, chasing a healthier climate for a boy who needed one. Tucson became home, and Charlie grew up alongside his brothers Cecil and John, graduating from Amphi High School in 1968.
Cars found him early. Fresh out of high school, Charlie took a job at a local auto parts store, and it wasn't long before he was fixing cars for family and friends on the side — teaching himself the trade one engine at a time. When he was later laid off from a mining job with two young sons to support, Charlie didn't look for another employer. He turned his own single-car garage into a shop, and before long his street was lined bumper-to-bumper with neighbors' cars waiting on him.
That garage became C.C. Automotive in 1981. For 35 years, Charlie built a reputation Tucson still talks about: straight answers, fair prices, and repairs done right the first time. He passed away on April 6, 2016, leaving behind a shop, a standard, and a family determined to keep both alive.
Today, his youngest son Tony carries the business forward, with his Uncle John still by his side. The name on the sign hasn't changed, and neither has the promise behind it: honest work, no surprises, since 1981.
